PREVIEW: TURFFONTEIN (STAND SIDE) - 2 JULY 2016
RACE 1:
FLYING MYTH (3) ran well in his post maiden last time. Two horses that ran well last time are approval mode (1) and RAASMAAL (7) on debut last time. DOUBLE APPEAL (2) has been consistent while HIDEAWAY (4) may relish the shorter trip.
RACE 2:
POOL PARTY (2) was bumped at the start last time. Has the form to win. RASPBERRY LIPS (3) ran a cracker in Kimberley on Monday. Watch the betting. WATER LILY LAKE (4) won on debut last time. CARIBBEAN QUEEN (1) won her maiden at the second attempt[t last time. Can be followed. Take your pick of the balance to come home next.
RACE 3:
GINA BALLERINA (4) showed excellent improvement in her second start last time. LEVI LADY (7) has consistent form. Her day could come soon. CELTIC LADY (3) made a good debut last time despite weakening. MY TROUBLE (8) makes her debut. Watch the betting. LADY OF THE WORLD stayed on when making her debut last time.
RACE 4:
EBONY KNIGHT (8) can be watched. Made a very good debut last time. ORAPA (13) will improve on his decent debut last time. TROTSKA (14) showed excellent improvement in his second start last time. CHERISHED GOLD (9) runs for the twentieth time but can place again. BUBBLY REPLY (3) runs for the sixteenth time and could also place.
RACE 5:
AFRICAN RULER (1) can win on a great second in the Grade 1 Golden Horse. FINCHATTON (2) has good form and must be respected. Another to consider is GRADUATION DAY (4). He has won four from seven starts. TIGER'S RETREAT (9) can earn. TORO ROSSO (5) has been steady but has issues.
RACE 6:
FRAPPACHINO (11) has very good form since winning his maiden three runs back. HERMOSO MUNDO (10) has been consistent. A P EMBLEM (9) can improve on a fair post maiden effort last time. PENTELIKO (4) rarely runs a bad race and should be involved at the finish. THE ELMO EFFECT (2) has some fair form to recommend him for a money chance.
RACE 7:
Another mouth-watering, if not controversial, Durban July looms. MAC DE LAGO (2) at 25/1 could cause the upset from the highly rated FRENCH NAVY (1) at 6/1 and BELA-BELA (18), the favourite at 9/2. Others to give chances to are SOLID SPEED (8) at 15/2 and MARINARESCO (13) at 14/1.
RACE 8:
OFF THE MARK (1) has won her last three starts and her form could see her win yet again. FUTURE FANTASTIC (3) comes from an in form yard and jockey. LONDON (6) ran an improved run last time when staying on. JIN-GO-LO-BA (12) has a chance with only 53 kg on her back. NITROGEN (9) can cause the upset.
RACE 9:
HEAVEN'S DOOR (5) won easily on debut last time. Follow. RIVER RUN (12) showed further improvement last time. Could do the job today. GREEN CREST (1) is not out of it. SACRED COUNTESS (7) and PRIDE OF BARBADOS (8) could fill minor placings.
