Turffontein June 15th Preview

 Race 1

Maiden Juvenile Plate - 1000m
14 – 2 – 4 – 1
Sweet Trail (Philanthropist) represents the Magner stable, he could provide the upset If reproducing his debut performance in this contest. Robbie Sage trains, Boatswain (Poet’s Voice) he may not be a 5 furlong horse on pedigree, but his form is very encouraging and the colt does appear to be a major player here. Crassus (Imperial Stride) took on much stronger company when last seen in action, he could get a look in if reproducing his debut performance in this event. Leon Erasmus saddles, Bennu (King’s Chapel) who has had his fair share of chances to get it right, but he did take second place in his most recent race and should be there abouts again.
Race 2
Juvenile Plate - 1160m
1 – 4 – 3 – 5
Sean Tarry conditions, London Secret (Gimmethegreenlight) she won first time out and appears to be very progressive, the filly can keep her unbeaten record intact. Takingthepeace (Visionaire) is a well bred individual, she produced a promising effort on debut behind the top selection and should give her some cheek with experience under the belt. Joe Soma trains, Ice Mint (Sail From Seattle) she hasn’t exactly set the track ablaze in her two starts to date, but is open to improvement racing back in a sprint. Tidal Tussle (Call To Combat) has been honest as of late and can feature if she doesn’t find the trip to short, definitely one to consider for quartets.
Race 3
Maiden Plate - 1400m
5 – 9 – 4 – 8
Matthew Lips (Oracy) represents the Sean Tarry yard, he is coming along with each outing and should go close to landing the score in this event. Saint John Gray steps out, Manitoba (Kildonan) he is probably the biggest threat to the top selection and could pick up the pieces should he fluff his lines. Jika (Jay Peg) another Sean Tarry inmate may have found 2000m to far last time out, the drop in trip should suit him on breeding and a place is certainly not beyond him if that is the case. Devin Little conditions, Mambo Symphony (Mambo In Seattle) he is drawn widest of all, but cannot be completely discounted on the basis of his last run, which saw him finish a good third.
Race 4
MR 75 Handicap - 1400m
5 – 2 – 7 – 3
Sean Tarry sends out another competitive runner in, Isolde (Silvano) her post maiden form is very encouraging and if she handles the rise in class she should be concerned with the finish. Rouge Allure (Kahal) from the Stephen Moffatt stable had valid excuses when last seen in action and she looks to be a lively contender on her penultimate performance. Stuart Pettigrew trains, Future Fantastic (Lateral) she could bounce back to her best over this trip and is most definitely one to keep an eye on. Roy Magner conditions, Comme – Ci - Comme – Ca (Visionaire) who tends to be there abouts more often than not, she is a honest individual and has strong claims of making the frame here.
Race 5
Middle Stakes – 2450m
8 – 12 – 13 – 11
Wild Horizon (Fort Wood) settled for second in his most recent race and looks ready to go one better in this event, inform jockey Anthony Delpech climbs aboard him for the Joe Soma stable. Muntahaa (Western Winter) is a lightly raced individual from the Mike De Kock yard, he is very progressive and should be competitive here. Brian Wild trains, Racing Socks (Indigo Magic) the veteran stayer is running very well at the moment and deserves the utmost respect. Commodore Al (Captain Al) will be saddled by Gary Alexander, the gelding can certainly get involved in the shakeup if putting his best hoof forward in this event, he is a 8 time winner after all.
Race 6
MR 87 Handicap - 1160m
2 – 1 – 3 – 4
Mike Azzie trains, Spring Steel (Kahal) he does face some hard knocking sorts, but will get the services of Piere Strydom which in itself is invaluable and he should go close to landing the score. Pure Blonde (Kahal) is a classy sort who comes back from a lengthy absence of 121 days, but should be competitive if match ready. Paul Peter conditions, former Grade 1 winner, Arabian Beat (Black Minnaloushe) he should be involved in the finish if reproducing his penultimate performance in this contest. Kapitan (Captain Al) was disappointing when last seen in action, but could make the frame if running to his best form, he must be included in the quartet.
Race 7
MR 70 Handicap - 1160m
2 – 4 – 1 – 8
Starcraft Prince (Starcraft) is a consistent campaigner from the Candice Dawson stable, he should go close to winning with former champion jockey, S’manga Khumalo in the irons. Mike De Kock trains, Dreamuponadream (Judpot) he was a runner up in his most recent race and should once again be competitive if reproducing that effort here.  Cedrus Libani (Horse Chestnut) has been there abouts since breaking his maiden and is open to making further improvement as he is still lightly raced. Paul Peter conditions, Amber Flash (Mogok) his post maiden performance wasn’t all that bad, it was rather decent in fact and a quartet berth is not out of the question for the gelding.
Race 8
Maiden Plate - 1400m
1 – 12 – 2 – 5
Sean Tarry conditions, Serene Countess (Count Dubois) she is on the up and the 1400m should suit her down to the ground, the filly looks very competitive in what is a weak maiden. Dame Kelly (Dynasty) she is a live runner should she overcome her wide draw, the Ormond Ferraris inmate will have every chance if she is able to do just that. The top selection’s stable mate is, Shepherd’s Delight (Warm White Night) she had valid excuses last time out when trying further, the filly could feature on her previous form which was very honest. I Am Titanium (Biarritz) has not been to far off the action as of late and could earn her connections another cheque if all goes her way here.
