Fairview: Friendly City Stakes Preview

 Race 1

5 – 8 – 4 – 3
Maiden Juvenile Plate - 1400m
The consistent, Coyote Creek (Sail From Seattle) gets the nod in the first of the day, he should go close to winning. The Snaith stable have a good chance with the improving, Russian Court (Black Minnaloushe) who could give them some cheek. Chappaquidick (Mullins Bay) comes from the yard of, Gavin Smith and he has a solid eachway shout on what he has shown thus far. Grant Paddock sends out, Cezar Ritz (Biarritz) who is entitled to improve on his debut effort with experience under the belt, the colt may end up in the money.
Race 2
2 – 1 – 3 – 5
Juvenile Plate - 1200m
Form could play a vital role in the outcome of this event, the Sham stable has a lively contender in, Lawdy Miss Clawdy (Bold Silvano) who beat the Gavin Smith trained, Joking (Querari) before she went on to score feature race success. Smackaroo (Jay Peg) also represents the Sham yard and it is interesting to note that the form from her maiden win has recently been franked. The maiden, I’ll Tell Her (Sail From Seattle) is definitely one you have to include in all trifectas and quartets, her debut was promising and she could earn again.
Race 3
3 – 4 – 1 – 9
Juvenile Plate - 1200m
Seattle Flame (Sail From Seattle) takes a significant drop in class, this may prove to be decisive if he puts his best hoof forward. Dorrie Sham trains, Trap Lord (King’s Apostle) who is open to making improvement, his post maiden performance was encouraging and it could be a sign of things to come. Make It Count (Seventh Rock) broke his maiden last time out, and can get involved in the shakeup if things map out for him. The Du Plessis yard send out, What A Winner (What A Winter) who has yet to win, but cannot be discounted on his Cape form.
Race 4
1 – 2 – 3 – 5
Maiden Plate - 1400m
The Laing stable sends out, Tamashi (Fastnet Rock) whilst a mile appears to be more ideal, she should certainly go close over 7 furlongs and is one worthy of respect. Gavin Smith steps out, Perfect Parry (Golden Sword) it may be wise to take swingers with her and the top selection, she also has an excellent opportunity to break her maiden. The Greeff yard has a solid pair of runners in, Stanley’s Last (Pathfork) who must be forgiven for the poor showing last time out and the trier, Reasonable Doubt (Ashaawes).
Race 5
1 – 5 – 2 – 3
Maiden Plate - 1400m
Colonel Bluff (Dynasty) hails from the top class stable of, Allan Greeff and it would appear as if he has been prepared for this race, his third start in PE may be a winning one. The consistent, Copper Trail (Sail From Seattle) from the Bremner yard may be bred for shorter, but his form is what one needs to factor in. Renate Du Plessis sends out, Tough Harry (Harry Hall) who has had valid excuses as of late and could threaten if finding his best ability. Varzen (Var) rounded off quartets when last seen in action and he may be there abouts again.
Race 6
6 – 7 – 9 – 1
Conditions Plate - 1400m
Tara Laing steps out the hard knocking, Star Burst Galaxy (Var) she comes into this having run three consecutive seconds and could go one better, a big threat to the top selection is, Valediction (Captain Al) who settled for second last time out and looks competitive here. The latter’s stable mate is, Peonie Rock (Rock Of Rochelle) who has had valid excuses as of late, it may be a wise move to put a place bet on her. Yevette Bremner trains, a solid eachway contender in, Peach Delight (Greys Inn) her prior form was good and she could earn here.
Race 7
1 – 10 – 4 – 7
Friendly City Stakes - 1800m
Alghadeer (Dynasty) must have a line drawn through his last run, he just did not see out the 3200m and can return to winning ways here. Bottom weighted runner, Story Of My Life (Soar With Eagles) has a great deal of ability and the Gavin Smith trainee should give them plenty of cheek, his form is very encouraging. The Snaith trained, Jet Explorer (Jet Master) is a lively contender in this contest, he tends to be there abouts and could be a factor here. Stormy Eclipse (Dynasty) from the Tara Laing yard has a good chance if able to reproduce his Durban form, his local debut should be ignored because he did not stride out.
Race 8
3 – 5 – 1 – 10
MR 58 Handicap – 1200m
Allan Greeff conditions the very progressive, Quinelia (Querari) who has a decent chance of landing the score in a weak handicap. The Smith yard sends out, Gold Force (Argonaut) this 1200m specialist could threaten on her best ability. Wild Irish (Toreador) may just be in the right race to be a competitive runner, 6 furlongs on grass should suit the Dorrie Sham filly. Another Smith trainee with claims is, Galadriel (Horse Chestnut) who is a much better horse over this course and distance, include her in all exotic bets.
Race 9
1 – 8 – 3 – 13
MR 93 Handicap - 1400m
Kingvoldt (Western Winter) is one of the toughest horses around and he was last seen running second in a feature race, today could very well be his time to shine. The lightly raced, Classify (Sail From Seattle) looks like a lively threat to the top selection, he cannot be taken lightly on his form. A good eachway bet comes in the shape of, Gimmethestars a very smart son of Gimmethegreenlight (AUS) who won the Guineas. Master James is a useful son of, Jet Master (SAF) and he should represent a solid value on the tote.
Race 10
2 - 6 - 3 - 9
MR 74 Handicap - 1400m
Bonnie Vie (Lateral) takes on the boys, but she is extremely hard trying, it may be wise to punt her eachway. Allan Greeff conditions the smart sort, Without Permission (Rock Of Rochelle) who has strong claims of getting a much deserved win. The Cat (Bezrin) is a consistent campaigner and may be able to get involved in the finish if putting his last run behind him. To discount Brave Vision (Casey Tibbs) would be foolish, if he overcomes the wide draw the gelding could be a live runner.
Best bet: Colonel Bluff
