Race 1
Winter Storm was well backed first time out and didn't finish off his race after being speedy. Looks a nice type. Stop and Stare is a professional maiden and could continue earning for connections after being well beaten into second last time out. What A Story was third in the same race as the second selection. Could be same here.

Race 2
Choir Singer may be looking for this ground after a nice effort behind La Lucia and then had to switch last time. This time could be the right time. The 4kg off the De Kock runner, Oojooba and a decent run first out makes her a big runner, even after losing ground. Looks to have taken time considering the late start. Rabia The Rebel has shown some ability but is a risky selection for third. Could place.

Race 3
This is third time lucky for us tipping Big Myth and hopefully she delivers after a promising penultimate and disappointing last time out. Well drawn and now over 1700m. Pin Up Fold (update: scratched) was a close second last time out but has had many chances. Could place. One Dollar Message has also had numerous chances and has a place chance at best.

Race 4
Viburnum ran behind a nice type last time when favourite after two stunning wins prior. A decent type. One to watch. Defy Gravity has the weight advantage over the first selection but that may be only just. A decent run of form, places him in prime position to challenge. Samar seems well in here and runs at a weight when running to his best in recent times. Could be close again.

Race 5
Pretty Ballerina dropped 2 points on the ratings after the less than exciting feature efforts. This is the right race for progression. The one to beat. Noceur was fancied last time and just failed to win when pacy. Cast a shoe in that effort so more to come. Nice draw. Samarra ran a cracker last time out as in penultimate when just between over a length in both. Knocking on the door. Excalibur's Return also comes from the same formline as the second selection and could be one for the placings too.

Race 6
Copper Jay was well beaten last time but could be the best of this bunch. Is a 1000m specialist, is always speedy and could put it all together this time. All Night Flight continues to drop in the ratings and must be a big runner after being close enough behind better horses. A big runner. Marcus Attilius could improve from that second start and place here after winning first time out.

Race 7
Image Award looks a nice sort and was thrown into the merit rated deep end after a maiden win carrying 56kg. Second last time and not beaten far. Another big effort expected. Tammany Hall was just beaten last time and has been in great form. 
Place chance. Maple Syrup ran another ice type of race last time out when weakening late. Place chance again.

Race 8
Same Song ran a nice race last time out when losing a length at the off. Hasn't been bad post maiden and could crack another win here. Snow Path has the eye catching booking of Piere Strydom on board after the latest poor effort after some nice efforts prior including a win. Viva Espana is dropping in the merit ratings and could place here after being beaten just over 4 lengths and 4 lengths in her last two efforts.
