Lady In Black looked the right horse all in and proved so when beating the Horse of the Year Oh Susanna, who patently needed the run in her come back, in a Fillies Pinnacle Stakes race at Kenilworth.
Lady In Black, also having not run since the Kzn winter campaign, is a better miler and showed that in a classy effort keeping the efforts of the Horse of the Year at bay.
The disappointment was Hashtagyolo who ran last but looks to come on from this effort after numerous problems. A slightly more progressive effort may have been expected but one never knows after her well documented issues at home.
Oh Susanna will now likely be aimed at the LQP and Sun Met. Lady In Black may have the Paddock Stakes as her final aim point.
In all it was great to see some classy runners at Kenilworth today.
