Arc Field Taking Shape as Stars Set to Be Supplemented

There were no major surprises among the withdrawals at Monday's first forfeit stage for a glittering Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on Sunday.

Fourteen horses were confirmed at what is the opening stage in a four-step process, with Adayar and Snowfall due to be supplemented at a cost of €120,000 on Wednesday.

With Snowfall waiting in the wings, Aidan O'Brien cut his original entry to two in the shape of Love and Broome, who are due to be ridden by Frankie Dettori and Yutaka Take.

Star fillies Tarnawa and Teona both feature, while one intriguing name left on the list at this stage is St Leger runner-up Mojo Star for Richard Hannon and Amo Racing.

Hurricane Lane, his conqueror at Doncaster, was confirmed on course for Longchamp by Charlie Appleby on Sunday and will be the mount of James Doyle, while William Buick will ride Derby and King George hero Adayar.

Four French-trained runners have been left in contention, with a decision due on Raabihah's participation within the next 24 hours, and similar deliberations going on in Prix Niel winner Bubble Gift's camp later this week.
