SA Nursery runner up Salutes in Dubai

After a lengthy trip from South Africa and then to Dubai, then to Australia, Nujem Suhail wins at his third start in his new country, ironically where he came from originally.

The Inglis Premier purchase returned 'home' as it were for Mathew De Kock and Robbie Griffiths in a round trip journey to victory. Albeit, not an easy road to the winners circle.

Nujem Suhail was purchased by Sheikh Khalifa and ran in South Africa winning his first two starts in South Africa. He then ran second in the Grade 2 SA Nursery and shipped to Dubai, thereafter. South Africa's well documented protocols meant he didn't race in the 2021 Dubai World Cup Carnival due to a late arrival. He was due to race earlier this year got injured. He then produced an eye popping gallop in a trial in Australia catching many an eye. He needed his first two starts and disappointed in both by not winning but not in terms of the actual runs, which were both progressive.

He then won at Sale under Jye McNeil on Sunday morning for a young set of Dubai owners in Mike De Kock's silks.

He is by Starspangledbanner out of Sophie’s First, and touted to be a smart sort even though he is already 5 but lightly raced.
