In what looks like a top move from the Hong Kong Jockey Club, the Gold Challenge at Greyville on Saturday has been listed as a World Pool event.
The race is stacked with the best in the country taking each other on in what looks to be a classic renewal of the event.
The World Pool offers punters an opportunity to compete with bookmaker odds and even surpassing them with better value by placing bets on a highly liquid World tote hosted in Hong Kong.
The race offers punters in Hong Kong a chance to also enjoy the best of South African racing including seeing top riders who have graced the turf tracks of Happy Valley and Sha Tin in the past.
These include Gavin Lerena, Piere Strydom, Richard Fourie who raced in Hong Kong as well as up and coming stars like Saudi Arabian Jockey Challenge race winner, Rachel Venniker and relatively new kids on the block like Serino Moodley and Craig Zackey.
South African jockeys and trainers have the platform to showcase their skills to the lucrative Asian and world markets.
