Ruling Court, 2,000 Guineas Winner, Euthanised After Laminitis Complications

Godolphin’s Ruling Court, the talented son of Justify and winner of the 2,000 Guineas, has been euthanised following complications from laminitis.

“He will be sorely missed. I would like to thank all of the team, who did everything they could to save him,” said trainer Charlie Appleby, reflecting the deep loss felt by everyone involved in the colt’s care.

Ruling Court was purchased for €2.3 million at Arqana, a testament to his exceptional breeding and early promise. In his brief career, he won three of six starts and never finished outside the top three, showcasing the talent that had made him a standout from the start.

Though his time on the track was short, Ruling Court’s brilliance and consistency left a lasting mark on the racing world. His legacy as a 2,000 Guineas winner and highly promising colt will not be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Ruling Court.
