Oldlands Stud continues to underline its reputation as one of South Africa’s most reliable producers of quality thoroughbreds, with the farm enjoying a particularly successful spell on the racetrack in recent months.
Earlier this season, Oldlands-bred runners notched up four victories in the space of just three days and a month to remember with 12 winners during that period, highlighted by feature race triumphs from Taxi To The Moon in the G2 Golden Horse Sprint and Arverni Princess in the World Sports Betting Dash.
Nestled in the picturesque Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, Oldlands Stud will present a select draft of four yearlings at this year’s KZN Yearling Sale. Given the farm’s proven record of breeding top-class performers, buyers would be well advised to take a closer look at this offering.
The memorable July and Met hero Kommetdieding, whose sire Elusive Fort now calls Oldlands home, is represented by two members of his first crop. Fiery Comet (Lot 7) is a filly out of a three-time winning mare whose sister to G2 SA Fillies Nursery runner-up Red Hot Rose. Dance In The Storm (Lot 112), another filly, hails from the family of G1 Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo.
Royal Mo, the son of leading sire Uncle Mo, is also represented by a pair of youngsters in the draft. Royal Show (Lot 125) is a filly out of a daughter of champion racemare and influential broodmare sire Bernardini, while Mystic Mo (Lot 156) is a colt whose six-time winning dam is a full-sister to Listed Swallow Stakes runner-up Margot On Stage.
Interestingly, the cross of Uncle Mo over Bernadini mares has been most successful in USA.
Prospective buyers can inspect the Oldlands Stud draft in Block E at Suncoast Casino, Durban.
