STRONG BOOK FOR HENRYTHENAVIGATOR

The win by Danleigh in Friday night's G1 Manikato Stakes further highlighted the excellent book of Henrythenavigator, with his dam Graceful Lily joining the likes of grand producer Circles Of Gold in the Coolmore stallion's first season book.

Sydney based owner-breeder Keith Leonard and his wife Ruth have had plenty of reasons to smile over the last few days.

Notonly did Danleigh win the Manikato, but a couple of days beforehand, Graceful Lily, also owned by Mr & Mrs Leonard, was amongst the first of the mares recorded in-foal to four-time G1 winning Champion miler Henrythenavigator at Kerrie Tibbey's Goodwood Farm in Murrurundi.

Speaking of his decision to choose ‘Henry' as the mate for his highly desirable mare, Keith was effusive in his praise of the horse's credentials.

"He's a great style of horse. He won four G1's and he was running marvellous times in winning all those races. He was breaking track records and that is the mark of a great horse," Leonard said.

"I also liked the Sadler's Wells influence in his pedigree and I thought he would be a nice match for my mare physically as he has a bit of leg under him which she needs.

"He's got everything going for him and I don't think you can do any better than him."

Graceful Lily is amongst a number of quality mares booked to Henrythenavigator this Spring.

The son of Kingmambo's book also includes the great Circles Of Gold, dam of multiple Group 1 winners and international stars Elvstroem and Haradasun.

Triattica is another highly rated mare going to Henrythenavigator. She is already the dam of G1 Adelaide Cup winner Demerger, but may add another top level winner this spring in the shape of highly promising three-year-old Tribunal, who is one of the early fancies for this year's G1 Victoria Derby.

Group 1 producing dams Vreeland (Dam of G1 winner Danglissa) and Classy Babe (Dam of G1 winner Devil Moon) are also among Henrythenavigator's debut book this season.
