Update: WARREN Kennedy has just won the Gr1 Railway Stakes on Waitak coming from back of the pack to win going away on a 10/1 shot. That win made it 6 wins from 7 rides for the champion.

It was a riding masterclass for Warren Kennedy, the South African Champion Jockey of 2022. The leading rider in New Zealand is building a landmark day on the Grade 1 Pukekohe raceday in New Zealand.

As of the 5th race, 'The Wizard of Woz' as they have nicknamed him, rode home the winner of four of the first five races including the Gr. 2 Sir Patrick Hogan Stakes in About Time and the Gr2 Eclipse Stakes taking down the 4/10 Move To Strike with Bellatrix Star. He didn't ride in the other event and stood at 4 from 4.

UPDATE: He won the 7th event as well making it 5 from 7 races run and 5 from 6 rides. 

Kennedy was particularly impressive in the Sir Patrick Hogan by biding his time at the back end of the field only to storm home with an inside run to win convincingly on a well backed runner.
