Princess Calla Sold to US owner, heading to Breeders' Cup

In a significant move that underscores the ever-expanding reach of horse racing, an international deal done by John Stewart has culminated in the acquisition of Princess Calla, the 2023 South African Horse of the Year.

Princess Calla undergoes the final stages of quarantine before embarking on her journey to Chad Brown's training facility. Under the guidance of Brown, Princess Calla will prepare for what promises to be a thrilling run at this year's Breeders' Cup.

The acquisition of Princess Calla not only signifies a strategic move for Stewart's Resolute Racing team. Princess Calla's journey from South Africa to Kentucky is set to captivate racing enthusiasts worldwide.

Speaking on the acquisition, John Stewart said, "We have finalized our international deal and I am so excited to announce that we have acquired 2023 South African Horse of the Year PRINCESS CALLA in a private sale. I think this kind of international competition is great for the industry."
