Andrew Fortune Licence Failure

The National Horseracing Authority has confirmed a decision to deny Andrew Fortune a licence to ride.

The 56 year old was denied by the Appeal Board in late May and the decision was not overturned.

Fortune has been riding work and getting his weight down for the past few months in between trips to Australia, where is family resides, and Cape Town where his jockey son is based.

SAHorseracing.COM chatted to Fortune and he was hoping for a better outcome with the decision.

The much appreciated ex champion jockey is more level headed and determined than ever to get riding again so this comes as a bitter blow.
