Farewell to Designs On Rome, Hong Kong’s Beloved Champion

 

The racing world mourns the loss of Designs On Rome, affectionately called Romeo, a true icon of the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Romeo’s remarkable career peaked during the 2013/2014 season when he swept the prestigious Champion Awards, claiming titles such as Horse of the Year, Most Popular Horse, and Champion Middle-Distance Horse. While not the largest horse on the track, his boundless spirit and tenacity earned him admiration and victories that will be remembered for generations.

Beyond his racing prowess, Romeo charmed those around him with his mischievous nature, always ready to brighten the day with his cheeky antics. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his owner, Mr. Cheng Keung Fai, his devoted connections, and countless fans worldwide.

He resided at Living Legends in Melbourne, Australia.
