Darley announces fees for its European roster in 2016

Dubawi (pictured) once again heads the roster, and will stand for £225,000 (currently Approx R 2.3 million). The son of Dubai Millennium has enjoyed another vintage season both on the track and in the sales ring. His staggering 11 G1 winners worldwide in 2015 include the winners of the Prix du Jockey Club, King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes, Juddmonte International, Tattersalls Gold Cup and the Dubai World Cup. His progeny have amassed global earnings of over £16m, more than any other European sire.

In the sales ring, Dubawi’s yearlings have averaged a world-best £788,500, and were led by the filly who topped proceedings at Tattersalls Book 1 when purchased for 2.1m guineas and the €2.6m colt who topped the sale at Arqana in August.

Darley’s European roster will feature ten new stallions for 2016, including the aforementioned Golden Horn, whose four G1 victories this year include the Derby and Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. The son of Cape Cross will stand for £60,000 as he begins his stud career at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket.

Night Of Thunder will stand at Kildangan Stud for €30,000. The son of Dubawi won the best renewal of the 2,000 Guineas since 1971 last year when he defeated eight G1 winners and added victory in the G1 Lockinge Stakes to his record earlier this year.

Exceed And Excel and Cape Cross, both of whom recorded their 100th global Stakes winner in 2015, will both remain at Kildangan Stud, standing for €40,000 and €20,000 respectively.

Four new Australian reverse shuttlers are headed by Brazen Beau who will stand for £10,000 at Dalham Hall, while Hallowed Crown and Shooting To Win will both stand for €7,000 at Kildangan. Sidestep will stand for €4,000 at Haras du Logis.

The Darley Club, announced in September, is proving very popular with breeders, with great support already for French Navy, Fulbright, Hunter’s Light and Outstrip.

Casamento, whose first yearlings have averaged a massive nine times their conception fee at the sales this autumn, will stand for the first time in Britain for a fee of £5,000, while the popular shuttle stallion Epaulette, whose first foals have been well received by breeders this year, will return to Kildangan at €7,000.

Shamardal, who has enjoyed another standout season headlined by G1 Cheveley Park Stakes heroine Lumiere and G2 Champagne Stakes victor Emotionless, will stand privately
