The well backed top weight, National Title was victorious at Durbanville in a
merit rated 100 handicap over 1200m. The National Assembly gelding was brought
home under 61kgs from the Australian bred, Yiannachi.
National Title went off at odds of 14/10 after opening at 3/1. He is possibly
the most talented horse in the country not to have won a graded race. National
Title was second in the grade 1 Mercury Sprint at his last racecourse
appearance. He was ridden to victory in this race by Bernard Fayd`Herbe and is
trained by Dean Kannemeyer.
