Blue-Blooded Snitzel Filly Leads Day Three at Magic Millions

Day Three of the 2026 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale delivered another headline result when a blue-blooded Snitzel filly from Arrowfield Stud topped proceedings at $1.6 million.

Consigned as Lot 504, the filly is the latest progeny of the unraced War Emblem mare Madame Andree and was secured by Hermitage Thoroughbreds after sustained bidding. Madame Andree has already established herself as a high-impact producer, responsible for five stakes performers, including recent Gosford Guineas winner Caffe Florian.

Hermitage Thoroughbreds’ Shannon Clarke said the filly had been identified early as their standout of the sale, with competition reflecting her pedigree and physical appeal. Clarke noted Hermitage’s strong recent results with Snitzel fillies and highlighted the long-standing success of Arrowfield-bred horses as key factors in the purchase.

Clarke also drew comparisons between the filly and Hermitage’s star Snitzel mare Lady Shenandoah, pointing to their shared athletic build, clean movement, and natural balance as traits that stood out during inspections.

Harron Maintains Momentum with Seven-Figure Colts

Leading Sydney bloodstock agent James Harron continued his strong Magic Millions campaign, adding two more million-dollar colts in partnership with Tony Fung Colts.

The highest-priced of the pair was a Snitzel colt out of Play That Song, knocked down for $1.2 million from the Newgate Farm draft. Harron described the colt as strong and purposeful, noting the dam’s speed as a two-year-old and Newgate’s proven record of producing elite-level performers.

Harron also secured a Frankel colt from the imported stakes winner Miss Alacrity for $1.1 million. He highlighted the colt’s athleticism and the strength of the American speed influence on the dam side, describing the purchase as one with long-term upside.

I Am Invincible Filly Sparks Early Interest

The day’s first seven-figure result came early when an I Am Invincible filly from Blue Diamond Stakes placegetter Lankan Star sold for $1 million.

Offered by Segenhoe Stud, the filly—only the second foal of her dam—was purchased by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott in conjunction with Bruce Slade’s Kestrel Thoroughbreds. Buyers were drawn to her physical presence, sale-ring composure, and the proven precocity embedded in her pedigree.

Market Strength Continues

By the close of Day Three, the sale gross had climbed to more than $146 million, surpassing the same point last year despite fewer lots being offered. The average price rose above $281,000, the median remained steady at $200,000, and the clearance rate pushed beyond 85 percent.

Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said the market had been strong across all levels, particularly in the middle market, and expressed optimism ahead of the Howden Super Session on Day Four.
