Selangor Turf Club has unveiled a transformative initiative to boost the horse racing industry with a significant increase in prize money and state-of-the-art facility upgrades. These measures reflect the Club's ambition to elevate the sport and offer unmatched opportunities for all stakeholders, including owners, trainers, and jockeys.

Prize Money Boost

Beginning January 1, 2025, the Club will roll out a revamped prize structure, which includes:

A total prize pool of RM31 million, marking a substantial uplift.

The introduction of a RM1 million race exclusively for four-year-old horses, a first for the Club.

Enhanced rewards for top finishers, ensuring outstanding performances receive greater recognition.

A bonus system targeting local and emerging talent, designed to inspire competitive excellence among jockeys.

Tan Sri Datuk Richard Cham Hak Lim, Chairman of the Selangor Turf Club, highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating:

 “The bold launch of the Selangor Turf Club’s Drive to Global Excellence – Racing Enhancement Funds is a catalyst for scaling up the benefits to industry players. We deeply value the contributions of everyone who has supported this blueprint, which will propel Malaysian horse racing to new heights.”
